NMCH, STANFORD AND UOP HAS ACHIEVE TRILATERAL COOPERATION Develop New Areas for Children’s Hearing Care, and Benefit Children with Hearing Problems

On November 19th,2017, the signing ceremony of the cooperation between Stanford, UOP and NMCH was held by NMCH (Nanjing Maternal and Child Health Hospital). NMCH was officially become the pediatrics clinical audiology technology demonstration and research base for UOP.

In the future, the three parties will exchange good experiences, including discipline direction in academic research and clinical technology, personnel training and other aspects of depth cooperation. In order to promote children's hearing healthcare to further improve clinical and scientific research level.

On the same day, NMCH also invited the Stanford University School of Medicine otolaryngology head and neck surgery Director Matthew Fitzgerald, University of the Pacific professor in the department of hearing Gabriella Musacchia, Jiong Hu, and University of the Pacific Audiology Doctoral Resident Hayley Shillington gave the guests a lecture on "Children's Field of Audiology Related Academic Frontier". The content includes "Pediatric Audiology’s New Progress", “Central Auditory Processing Disorder: Basic and Clinical Assessment", “The Mechanism of Infant Speech Development ", "Concussion of Brain Damage to Hearing Defect Detection", "The Application of ABR in Pediatrics: Operation and Steps", etc., The lecture attracted the attention of professionals from Shanghai, Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangsu and surrounding provinces and cities, it also got a very good response.

The children's health department of NMCH tries to improve the quality of children, promote the physical and mental health of children as a target, it also tries to innovate and strengthen international cooperation. The head and neck surgery center of Stanford university medical school in the United States is a leading international medical center, leading the world in scientific research and clinical practice. University of the Pacific clinical hearing department is located in San Francisco, California. It is a leading position in training clinical audiology, conducting audiology research and evidence-based medicine research. In this collaboration, the three parties will focus on clinical skills practice and scientific research in-depth cooperation. It also would ensure a long-term implementation of the standardization of clinical technology, personnel access on a regular basis and academic exchanges, etc. Under the opportunity of tripartite cooperation, the children's health department of NMCH will vigorously develop children's hearing related fields of scientific research and clinical applications on the basis of their current hearing healthcare program. Such as monitoring brain damage in children, children's auditory processing and auditory cognitive aspects and so on. It also develops children's hearing healthcare related cutting-edge scientific research into clinical practice, and promotes child health status in the field of children's hearing healthcare. This cooperation will be the world's leading experience and technology combining with the advantage of NMCH. It is a remarkable achievement in scientific research and clinic.
