Work as a post-doctoral fellow at Ottawa Hospital Research Institute for one year in Canada

Dr. Huilin Zhang, Deputy chief physician of Department of Gynecology Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology

 

Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, was financial supported by the Jiangsu Provincial Medical Youth Talent (QNRC2016104) to Work as a post-doctoral fellow at Ottawa Hospital Research Institute(OHRI) from February 24, 2019 to February 24, 2020 in Canada following professor Benjamin K. Tsang.
    The OHRI is the research arm of
 The Ottawa Hospital - one of Canada’s largest learning and research hospitals with over 1,100 beds, approximately 12,000 staff and annual budget of over $1.2 billion. They rank fourth out of more than 600 Canadian hospitals for competitive, peer-reviewed grants from the prestigious Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

 

    Professor Tsang is an internationally recognized ovarian biologist, who has the insight and ability in bringing fundamental research into the clinical context. His research on the molecular and cellular basis of chemoresistance in ovarian cancer has provided key information for the development of new therapy for chemoresistant ovarian cancer, a most lethal cancer in women. 
    Dr. Huilin Zhang joined Tsang's laboratory at a Post-doctoral Fellow for one year and satisfactorily completed his research training on the role and regulation of immune cells in chemoresistance in ovarian cancer. During this period, Dr. Zhang developed excellent critical thinking skills and learned a number of research techniques. He is well prepared to establish his own research projects and excellent clinic work upon his return to our hospital.
