From July 23 to 24, 2016, the 80^th Anniversary of Nanjing Maternal and Child Care Hospital Attached to Nanjing Medical University and Academic Forum of Maternal and Child Heath sponsored by the hospital were wonderfully unfolded in Nanjing Poly Theatre. In 1936, when China suffered domestic strife and foreign aggression, The Maternity Hospital Attached to National Central Advanced Midwifery Vocational School, the predecessor of Nanjing Maternal and Child Care Hospital, emerged at the right moment. In the past 80 years, the employees of the hospital have been writing a growth history of the hospital with a high sense of responsibility and mission, which is an epitome of the development history of Chinese maternal and child care undertakings. So far, Nanjing Maternal and Child Care Hospital has gradually become a specialized hospital with modernized characteristics, a complete range of disciplines, rich medical resources, sophisticated equipment and a high academic level.

In the 80^th year of its development, i.e. the first year of the “13^th-five-year” period, the hospital will seize the opportunity of deepening the reform of public hospitals, adapt itself to the new situation and new requirements, cling to reform and development, attach equal importance to health care and clinical medicine, deepen the connotation of specialty, optimize talent training, promote its overall strength, and build itself into a maternal and child care hospital  integrating medicine, teaching and scientific research, ranking first-rate in China and taking the lead in Jiangsu Province.
