Nanjing Women and Children's healthcare Hospital was founded in 2006 to meet the needs of medical research. With the principle of "bench to bedside", NMCHI has been established as a translation research enterprise with the mission of advancing knowledge and therapies for diseases affecting women and children, and strives toward the objective of development on the health of them. It endeavors at the forefront of research to cure the diseases by innovating better therapeutic and prevention strategies through basic and clinical research.

NMCHI provides a supportive environment and intellectually rich for fostering scientific creativity and exploration of physician-scientists. Currently, clinical samples library, cell biology platform, proteomics platform, genomics platform, model animal platform, microbial research platform, pathology platform have been built. Based on the platforms described above, NMCHI have cooperated with some institutes and hospitals, and gained numbers of achievements listed below.

At present, scientists and staffs of NMCHI main focus on on the following major areas:childhood obesity, gynecological tumors, reproduction medicine, epidemiology, stem cells therapy, as well as nanomedicine. Our goal is to build a leading and well-known institute in the domestic and overseas.

In future, NMCHI will continue to:
Develop infrastructure for top-notch programs.
Strengthen the leading subjects.
Develop new programs in basic and clinical research.
