About Clinical Specimen Repository
The clinical specimen repository is a centralized, clinical data registry and sample repository that supports translational research. The aim is to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of women and children diseases, especially pregnancy, neonatal and gynecological diseases. It is shared infrastructure that extensible and responsive to the needs of the nonprofits engaged in the endeavor. The clinical specimen repository was founded by Nanjing Public Health Bureau and Nanjing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital in 2011. Currently, it possesses samples of tumor, breast milk, cord blood, brown fat cells, and so on. In the future, it will provide enriched resources to basic and clinical research in women and children diseases.

Clinical Specimen Repository
1. Tumor : gynecologic oncology and breast cancer.
2. Blood samples: cord blood, heel blood, blood of obese children and blood with abnormal levels of trace elements or nutrition.
3. Breast milk
4.Cell samples: umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells and brown fat cells  
 
Database

  1. Pregnancy Disease Gene: eclampsia, pregnancy-induced hypertension and gestational diabetes, et al.
  2. Neonatal disease genes: neonatal pneumonia,neonatal jaundice,et al.
Gynecological diseases: cervical disease, ovarian disease,et al.
