Zhonghua Shi, the director of obstetrics department, was invited to attend the 10th International DIP Symposium on Diabetes, Hypertension, Metabolic Syndrome & Pregnancy taking place in Florence, Italy from May 29th to June 1st, 2019. This Symposium’s focus is placed on the prediction and prevention of pregnancy complications-hyperglycemia, hypertension, preeclampsia, preterm birth, NCD’s (Non-Communicable Diseases) and pregnancy, fetal growth and others, as well as the cycle of future NCD’s that begins during the intrauterine life - onto mother and offspring.
Dr. Shi made a poster presentation named “Gestational diabetes is associated with change in the gut microbiota composition in second trimester of pregnancy” in this symposium, sharing the research experience of gut microbiota in pregnancy metabolic diseases and attracting the interests from multiple countries.
The DIP Symposium aims to bring to the forefront matters of invention and innovation in the fields of Maternal, Fetal, Neonatal and Digital Medicine. It will provide further updates and educational needs for healthcare providers in aspects related to their practice of maternal fetal medicine.
